Installing the Umbrella into Your Planter of Garden


  • For the best results wait until that time of day when the sun is positioned to expose your plant to the strongest sunlight.
  • Position the open Classy Shade Plant Umbrella over the plant to be shaded and move the umbrella until the shadow most completely covers the plant.
  • When the umbrella is optimally positioned firmly press the blade end of the umbrella into the planter dirt or garden dirt (as they case may be) by holding the post and pressing down and moving slightly back and forth. Pack the dirt around the inserted blade to help secure the umbrella.
  • If the umbrella canopy is not sufficiently high to you may need a Classy Shade Extension to raise the umbrella canopy.
  • If the dirt is too firm to penetrate or too loose to hold the umbrella using a Classy Shade Base that stands adjacent to the plant may be preferred installation for your umbrella.
  • You may secure the umbrella, extension, base and even the plant as described in the Assembly section above.

Installing the Umbrella Next To Your Planter


  • For the best results, wait until that time of day when the sun is positioned to expose your plant to the strongest sunlight.
  • Holding the umbrella upright, position the open Classy Shade Plant Umbrella next to the plant and move umbrella until the shadow most completely cover the plant.
  • When the umbrella is optimally positioned, place the Classy Shade Base under the umbrella and insert the blade portion of the umbrella into the receiving portion of the base. For stability the base should be place on a level surface.
  • If the umbrella canopy is not sufficiently high you may need a Classy Shade Extension to raise the umbrella canopy. If you use an extension you need a Large Base for improved stability.
  • You may secure the umbrella, extension, base and even the plant with safety ties as described in the Assembly section above.

Installing the Umbrella nest to a Planter using a Half Base


  • For the best results, wait until that time of day when the sun is positioned to expose your plant to the strongest sunlight.
  • Holding the umbrella upright, position the open Classy Shade Plant Umbrella next to the planter and move umbrella until the shadow most completely cover the plant.
  • When the umbrella is optimally positioned, place the Classy Shade Half Base under the umbrella immediately next to the planter and insert the blade portion of the umbrella into the receiving portion of the half base. For stability the half base should be place on a level surface.
  • You should secure the umbrella post to the plant with a safety tie. See Assembly section
  • If the umbrella canopy is not sufficiently high you may need a Classy Shade Extension to raise the umbrella canopy. If you use an extension you meed a Large Base for improved stability.
  • You may secure the umbrella, extension, and base with safety ties as described in the Assembly section above.
